Transport at New Orleans Airport - MSY: Bus, Taxi, Shuttle

At New Orleans (MSY) airport there are the following methods of transportation:



Jefferson Transit Authority (JET) and the Regional Transportation Authority (RTA) offer service at the Airport and run to New Orleans city center.

Location: bus stop located on the outer lanes of the 2nd floor, outside the Concourse C.


Airport-Downtown Express (E2): it is operated by JET.
Route: from New Orleans Airport in Kenner, down Airline Drive into New Orleans.

Travel time is about 50 minutes.

Airport Express 202: RTA provides the service to/from the MSY airport.

To pick up the bus: Elk Place at Cleveland and the Union Passenger Terminal Bus, Bay 2 with transport to the Departures Level at the Airport. Some services run to the North Terminal Construction site.

Ticket price: $1.50



Taxicabs wait on the 1st Level of the Terminal, outside Baggage Claim 1 and 14.


Approximately rates:

Airport - Central Business District (CBD) / French Quarter - $36 (up to 2 passengers). For 3 passengers or more, the fee will be $15 per person.

Taxis accept credit cards to pay. It is recommended to ask to the taxi driver before start the ride.


Airport Shuttle: Hotels and various locations

From the airport there are shuttle buses that run to various hotels and different points in New Orleans.

The nearest station is located at 1001 Loyola Avenue in New Orleans (Union Station). To reach the Amtrak station passengers may use public or private transportation.
